Diana Bennett
Diana Bennett’s art-immersed childhood has had a large impact on her artistic practice. She uses thread and textiles on canvas, straying away from traditional practices of paint and illustration. She has a B.A. and M.A. from University of Toronto in Art History, and decided to teach for many years prior to practicing art professionally. Bennett constantly pushes the boundaries of traditional art practice and of the artistic heritage of her father; instead she has carved out her own path working with textiles and giving meaning to abstracted subjects. Over 40 years of her work has been mostly autobiographical.
